The bucket was created by Miami News photographers to capture the dramatic shot of the space shuttle Columbia. Charles Trainor and his crew combined a tripod, a home-built circuit board, a standard mop bucket, some baby socks to hold the silicate gelatin packed around the electrical connections, and a non-automatic camera.
