Caption/Description

Her veil symbolizes the shrouded life led by Bedouin women of the Middle East. Taught from birth to be subservient, they are expected to marry, raise many children, carry the heaviest loads and speak only with permission of their husbands. Gold coins and beads worn by the Bedouin women display the family wealth.
