Story Summary, In December, 1988 one of histories most devastating and killing earthquakes struck Armenia in the Soviet Union. With this disaster, the world witnessed one of the most tragic natural catastrophies in recent history. Though numbers very according to the source, Western analysts now estimate the death toll as high as 100,000. 'Death in Armenia' is a story about the dead and the living by a western photographer who was one of the first photographers to arrive in the disaster zone in Armenia.
