The Fremont Street hustlers is a gang of some 70 black, white and Latino teenagers. Home base is a 60-year-old house located on Kansas City's East Side. In the late morning, the girls, some of them still high, congregate on the steps. Coming down from drugs, one of them announces that she's pregnant. Cara reads a letter from her boyfriend in prison.
