Caption/Description

Fishermen cut and clean the meat and skin to distribute it to the villagers, a job that will take 5 days in all, in Lamalera, Indonesia. Inhabitants of the tiny village of Lamalera in Indonesia still hunt sperm whales using traditional methods. They have no motorboats, harpoons or ropes but still manage to bring home a 23m whale which provides food and materials for the whole village.
