Caption/Description
Ice in the Ross Sea off of Antarctica provides a seascape, which continues to be threatened by global warming. The near-24 hours of light in the summer gives unique views to a melting environment that is in a state of permanent change. Pack ice expands through the Ross Sea of the Southern Ocean off of Antarctica in late summer on Feb. 19, 2007
