Alice Paul, one of the original suffragettes, a member of the fledgling Feminist Movement and one of the original drafters of the Equal Rights Amendment. This is her reaction to learning of ratification of the amendment by the State of Illinois Legislature. Unfortunately, Paul died in late 1977, while still awaiting ratification of the ERA by three states.
