The den adjoining Warren's bedroom also has a ceiling mural. Carol often tries to interest her son, who must be carried around the house, in the antics of the animals painted there.

In hospital with the latest of a series of respiratory infections, Warren's care is supervised 24 hours a day by Carol, who has a reputation for dealing harshly with hospital staff whose performance dissatisfies her.
