Kartik waits in heavy traffic. Rickshaws are slowly being banned from all of the busiest streets to avoid hold ups in traffic, though there are many streets so narrow where only rickshaws can go.

Kartik greets another rickshaw puller as he pulls his first fare of the day. Many school children ride the rickshaws to school each morning as we might catch a school bus.

Kamala removes a splinter from Kartik's foot after a long day of pulling the rickshaw. Baby Sonu helps and son Gopal tries on Dad's shoes. He says he wants to pull rickshaw as well.
