Rioting followed a demonstration begun by independent truck drivers, who were protesting the high cost and short supply of diesel fuel and gasoline. The protesters burned a car and vandalized nearby gas stations. This was the second day of protesting for two thousand residents, in which thirty-four communities sent police reinforcements.
