Lake Tahoe's pristine waters are slowly being obscured by algal growth. Nutrients released during the urbanization of this alpine basin, are stimulating the process of eutrophication. A botanist from the University of California injects radioisotopes into underwater algal colonies to establish man-caused acceleration of algal growth rates.
