The Drought of 1980--Texas Style

The summer of 1980, for Texas and much of the United States was one of the hottest on record. Southern Texas was particularly hit hard with a drought which, in some areas, is in its third year. Texas farmers and ranchers faced hot temperatures, dying stock, and dried up crops. In some cases these men were forced to leave the land for other forms of livelihood.
