Caption/Description
Piece de résistance of the 1979's Foire Brayonne, Edmunston's folk festival, was a contest celebrating the Madawaska valley's buckwheat ploye. Unlike traditional pancakes, ployes are cooked only on one side and eaten as a bread substitute. The cooks cheered their creation which measured eight feet, and declared edible, won hands down.
