Spiderman Dan Goodwin climbs 100-story John Hancock center after a six-hour battle with Chicago firemen who sprayed water on him and used pikes with barbed hooks to block his progress. Their efforts were meant to discourage the 25-year-old mountain climber. Mayor Jane Byrne arrived on the scene and ordered firemen to allow him to continue his climb.
