Tea Dance Turns to Terror

On July 17th the Hyatt Regency Disaster became the worst accident in terms of lives lost since the San Diego plane crash of 1979. The Kansas City Hyatt was only a year old and held popular Friday night tea dances. As the band began to play Satan's Doll a fourth and second floor sky walk fell onto the crowded hotel lobby killing 113 people and injuring 186.
