Some 50 to 100 small planes damaged by the flooding of the Little Blue River at the Independence Memorial Airport in Independence, MO sit in lake-like surroundings. Jackson, Clay, Platte and Cass counties were declared disaster areas by Missouri governor Kit Bond.
