The Phantom Racquet

During the match between Paddy Roberts of Great Britain and B. Destremau of France, played at Wimbledon on the 22nd of May 1951, Roberts, it appeared, became annoyed at chasing the Frenchman's steady returns and threw his racquet at the ball in desperation. Photo shows Robert's racquet sailing through the air after the ball, during the incident.
