Jimmy Connors indulges in a little self-criticism Sept. 1, 1983, after a bad shot in a match against Thomas Hostedt during the U.S. Open tennis tourney. Connors won and went on to beat Ivan Lendl in the singles final. It was his second consecutive and fifth U.S. Open victory.
