Bodies of those killed in the night are piled on top of each other at a makeshift mortuary in the Philippine city of Davao. Victims of what is called “salvaging,” two or three suspected communist sympathizers turn up shot or beheaded each night in this city. In 1975, Davao had just twenty murders for the year. The government is suspected of being responsible for the murders.
