Mexico’s Killer Quake

Santa Maria Alanis brought this little boy into the world at the Juarez Hospital. She and her husband hadn’t decided on a name yet, there wasn’t time as she was buried with her boy in the rubble. Five days later rescue workers found them. Santa Maria was dead, her baby lived on under her, protected from falling debris and still able to nurse. Doctors treating him in this Intensive Care Unit have great hopes. When he does recover, an orphanage will be his new home since his father was also killed.
