A SWAT team member in Yuba City, Calif., raced seven-year-old Shannon Jones to safety from the home where the boy’s knife-wielding father had threatened to kill Shannon and three other children. Finally, after more than a six-hour standoff, police fired tear gas into the home and stormed in, rescuing the children unharmed.
