Caption/Description

To describe in any way the surprise and shock of western Pennsylvanians to an incredible May 31st chain of tornadoes would be an understatement. The chain of twisters was one of the worst to hit the U.S. this century and happened in a hilly area generally thought to be immune from such damage. Many died in the village of Albion, one of the hardest hit. Charles Reno’s trailer slammed into the house. “I have nothing to look forward to now. I only had two mortgage payments left,” he said.
