Ducks are seldom adverse to accepting handouts, but they have a good excuse for begging these days. Ice is making it tough for ducks to get to aquatic plants in Green Lake, so when a man visited the lake, some of the mallards hurried over, as did a pigeon, full of hope. The begging is likely to go on, as the cold is supposed to do.
