Robert Penn Warren, 82, was named Poet Laureate for the United States this past year. This is the first time in thirty years that the award has been granted. It is the second time the Kentucky-born author has won the honor. Penn Warren and wife, Eleanor Clark, also a writer, live a quiet life in Fairfield, Conn., where he spends his days writing in his disheveled office, or walking with his wife on their estate.
