Caption/Description
Story Summary, After 25 years of one of the world's bloodiest wars, the Eritreans launched several major offensives in 1987, capturing large areas and killing thousands of Ethiopian troops. POWs and refugees, fleeing the Government's repraisal bombings, became a tremendous burden to the Eritreans as they dug in for yet another offensive. With their latest success, the scales have now tipped in favor of the Eritreans for the first time since the war began. Caption, EPLF fighters work at early morning hour in Afabet area to collect ammunitions left by the fleeing Ethiopian troops. June 8th, 1988.
