After watching a friend commit suicide, Vince Berkey was having trouble concentrating in school. His grades were plummeting. His parents couldn't control him. Even though they only eked a modest living from selling air conditioners, his parents decided the expensive gamble of military school was worth it if it could wake up their son. Vince has above average intelligence but in many respects is a child out of control.
