Caption/Description
Fort Lauderdale's beachfront 'strip' is best known as the home of college spring break. But beneath the image of fun and the sun is a reality that is seedy and lonely. Each year, to escape the cold weather of the North, hundreds of runaway kids flock to the Strip, where they pass time hustling bis of money to buy drugs, alcohol and company, both casual and intimate. The runaways refuse to relenquish their independence. Ultimately, their days and nights on the Strip are filled with boredom and loneliness. A group of runaways spend their time hanging out on one of the more popular corners of the Strip.
