Up Against the Wall--'I can feel it starting now...it's good stuff, ' says Israel Colon, 41, an addict in Hartford for 30 years, moments after a former stock broker and fellow addict helped him shoot up. Like many addicts, he puts the works in his mouth before and after shooting up. The works, needles and syringes, are like pacifiers for children.
