Caption/Description

Like all 13 year old boxers, Michael Moorer admired the great fighters like Ali and Hearns out there making a name and sweeping the nation with their prowess and skill. Ten years later he is closer than ever to being one of them. One year after turning pro he captured the WBO light heavyweight championship. But he had one big problem, nobody wanted to fight him. His record of 23-0, all by knockout in an average of three rounds or less may have had something to do with it. So he gained 40 lbs. in three months and became a heavyweight, setting his sights on the title. His first challenge as a heavyweight came quickly. After an opponent backed out of an engagement he was matched with veteran Alex Stewart whose only losses were to Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield. Michael Moorer,23, takes a break from his rigorous training and focuses ahead on his first fight as a heavyweight.
