In a landscape and culture completely devoid of any signs of the modern world as we know it, I C-130 transport plane flying overhead seemed surreal. All day long, food drops would take place in the designated field with then 'X' in the middle of it People would stop the were doing to watch these huge symbols of the modern world drop tons of food to feed the hungry.
