Caption/Description
Searchers dig through the smouldering wreckage of what is perhaps Britain's worst disaster during an era of peace. Thirty-seven persons were killed in the mid-air crash between a Royal Air Force plane and a Sweedish DC6 airliner. Sir. Edward Gent, Governor of Malaya, was among those who died in the July 4 tragedy.
