Train Wreck--Mountain Style

A snowslide covering the narrow-gauge railway near Alamosa, Colo., provided this spectacular aerial picture. Two cars have tobogganed to bottom of gulch, a third hangs perilously over ledge. All fourteen persons aboard were rescued. Mathias' pilot took plane well into the gorge to get this picture. He used air currents to help make the steep ascent.
