Caption/Description
Find yourself in Metropolis, Illinois, the second week of June and from all indications you’ve popped into a typical small town festival. But then you see grown men walking around in All-American blue tight, a red cape flowing from their shoulders, and you know this isn’t any festival. Welcome to the Superman celebration, where for one weekend a year, Metropolis, the real town that bears the same name as the home of Clark Kent adopts Superman as its own. Metropolis, Superman the unofficial keeper of this small town cradling the Ohio River stands at merely 15 feet. Still he’s the biggest thing in this city.
