Marlene M. Winter, a nurse 27 years in recovery from alcoholism, prays for continued sobriety during her daily meditations. Winter works at a hospital with a treatment program for impaired nurses. She is critical of the Illinois disciplinary system which allows impaired nurses to continue working without a day of suspension.
