Caption/Description

Members of Indonesia's Armed Forces pray towards Mecca after positioning their tank gun turrets located at the Monas Statue towards the Presidential Palace across the road in Jakarta. The troops made this very symbolic gesture as a sign they no longer supported President Gus Dur who was hiding out in the Presidential Palace while impeachment hearings continued at the People's Legislative Assembly. This was the turning point for Gus Dur stepping down from office.
