Caption/Description

Known to the locals as 'Death Mountain' is the former vermiculite mine owned by W.R. Grace that quit production in 1990. As the sun sets behind the Cabinet Mountains, the spirals made by the surface mining for the vermiculite are revealed showing where the decades and countless millions of tons of vermiculite were mined.
