Caption/Description
The high school football team is the heart and soul of the disappearing rural town of Geraldine on Montana’s wind swept plains. The town, population of 283, has been shrinking for three generations and now the football team can only field 6 players. Diminishing farm profits have contributed o the decline, where trucks 50 years old still have to work and kids playing target practice in the fields dream of being championship bull riders, not farmers. <p> However, the Geraldine Tigers are a 6 man football powerhouse and have made it to the championship game 4 out of the last 6 years. This year was no different except that the Tigers scored 46 points in the last half of play to win an unlikely championship crown.
