Caption/Description
At the starting line the camels always want to go and there are invariably several false starts. The jockeys on their backs cannot stop them. Men beat the camels on their necks with canes to push them back. After steadying the camels until the last moment before the race, the men run from the starting line as the camels are released. It is the opening day of the 3rd annual Kuwait Championship at the Kuwait Camel Racing Club.
