A 4'X4' section of floor was made complete with trim and gas jet for authenticity. Floor was then nailed upsided down to corner of a real house wall. Cat was held through tiny hole in fake floor, by the tip of its tail. Rat was chloroformed and tied down with tiny wires. Cat was held from underneath until instant of shooting. Photo was to illustrate rat plague.
