A recording engineer, as well as a photographer, Mr. Plaut made this striking study of General Eisenhower as the wartime commander sat in a Columbia Records, Inc., control room listening to a play-back of his V-E Day speech. 'It was a real challenge,' say Mr. Plaut, 'to capture this bit of personality rarely seen in an Eisenhower portrait.'
