Crossings, The Dream of the Rich North - Sandra, 25 (L), drives down Cleburne's main street on the way home from grocery shopping with her child, Marco Antonio Velasquez Rodriguez, 1. After Hugo left Sandra in 1999, Sandra met Marcelino Velasquez, with whom she had two children. Police arrested Marcelino in 2002 for selling drugs, leaving Sandra a single mother with three children. Sandra often daydreams of returning to Mexico, where she was very involved with her church and won academic awards in school.
