The Afghan people live their lives as they always have done through their history , at once both the victims and ultimate survivors of their own fate. An exuberant dancer at a Hazara wedding in Kabul. Hazaras are believed to have originated from the Mongol invasions of Genghis Khan. Being Shia Muslims, they were amongst the worst victims of the Taliban. It was in the Hazara heartland of Bamiyan, , in a display of religious intolerance, the Taliban destroyed the giant Buddha August 2004
