The Afghan people live their lives as they always have done through their history , at once both the victims and ultimate survivors of their own fate. Local people watching the counting of votes on televisions in Taloqan, Takhar Province. TV sets were installed in towns across Afghanistan in an effort to assure people of the legitimacy of October's Presidential elections in Afghanistan. October 2004
