In shriveled Ethiopia, the search for food is constant. Scraping together one meal often comes at the expense of providing for the next. Itike Ledamo, 3, and her aunt watch over the baking of bread. It may be the family's only meal of the day. Sometimes, as food grows scarcer, they consume the roots and bark of trees.
