On Oct. 8, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake stuck South Asia killing an estimated 87,000 people, destroying 3.5 million homes and leaving 4.5 million dependant on food aid. The quake was felt from central Afghanistan to western Bangladesh, hitting Pakistan's Kashmir region the hardest, leaving thousands homeless and living in refugee camps at the onset of winter.
