Loretta Sterle lays the last of seven roses honoring the seven space shuttle Columbia crew members who were killed two years ago near Hemphill, Texas. The Hemphill Garden Club librarian, residents and officials gathered for a memorial service in remembrance of the fallen astronauts. The small town of 1100 was the epicenter of the disaster when Columbia broke apart upon re-entry. Photographed February 1, 2005.
