Pakistan On The Brink - Lawyers Unite - Pakistani attorneys cheer the arrival of suspended Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to a protest meeting March 28, 2007 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The firing of the chief justice two weeks earlier by President Pervez Musharraf was considered by many observers the event that turned most Pakistanis against the president. The sacking also united the country's legal community, and they protested the rest of 2007 for the re-establishment of an independent judiciary.
