Soldiers load Staff Sgt. Micah Lewis on a medical evacuation flight in the Diyala province. Lewis was injured by an improvised explosive device. 'There's nothing greater then to protect the men and women out on the battlefield,' says pilot CW4 David Torres. 'The quicker we can get them to further care, the better their chances are of survival.' This new generation of veterans face severe injuries not seen since the Vietnam era.
