Marine 1st Lt. Shaun Miller makes his way through dense poppy fields in Afghanistan's Helmand province, where American troops fought a Taliban stronghold in one of the world's major opium production areas. More U.S. troops were killed in Afghanistan during 2008 than in any other years since the U.S. invaded in 2001 to oust the Taliban.
