Shana pleads with the police not to take her daughter Maxine away. Scott, Maxine's father, holds her. Shana loses the argument, and Maxine is taken away to live with Shana's sister. The police arrived with the family's social worker after one of Scott and Shana's many fights. Scott and Shana are both strongly addicted to crystal meth.
